Category B1.1 – Mechanical Stream
This stream of the CAR-147 Basic AME programme prepares students for the mechanical and structural maintenance of turbine-powered aircraft, including components like the airframe, gas turbine engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, landing gear and associated mechanical systems. Graduates are trained through a mix of classroom theory and hands-on practical training to meet DGCA regulatory requirements for aircraft maintenance engineers.

The institute publishes a full fee sheet for the 2026-2028 session. The course total is Rs.6,20,500: application Rs.500, admission Rs.50,000, tuition Rs.1,40,000 per semester across four semesters (Rs.5,60,000), library Rs.5,000 and a refundable Rs.5,000 caution deposit. AMO training is charged separately and is mandatory - Rs.50,000 per semester, Rs.2,00,000 in total. All-in that is approximately Rs.8,20,500.
Where does the AMO training happen?
At IndiGo, Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. The institute's fee sheet names it directly. Practical training inside a major operating airline's maintenance environment is a materially different proposition from training at a small third-party MRO - worth weighing against the cost.
Is SAME really connected to IndiGo?
It is established under InterGlobe Education Services, part of the InterGlobe Group, which is IndiGo's parent company. The institute also runs an IndiGo Cadet AME Programme. That ownership link is unusual among Indian AME institutes and is confirmed on SAME's own website.
