Indira Institute is really known for its commitment. When we took admission there were tie-ups with airlines like AI Engg Services Ltd, Air India, GMR, AAR, Indamer and Star Air. Now they have more than this - Indigo has been added, Mytri Aviation, Manah Aerospace, Bluedart, Heligo, Indamer, Aviation Junction flying school and an ATC training centre. It is not stopping, it is leading towards more progress.

Compared colleges in four states before choosing
One of the best colleges. I visited many colleges in Delhi, Bhopal, Tamil Nadu and Pune in 2019 for my brother's admission. But I would say Indira college is leading in terms of every aspect - module clearing and genuine tie-ups: first Indamer Mumbai, then Air India Mumbai and Nagpur, then GMR Hyderabad and now Go Air. The classrooms are actually air conditioned. The eye-catching part is the Learjet engine on which practicals are really done by instructors and students.

Dual AME and B.Sc in three years
Indira Institute is best for the AME course. They are giving a degree program, B.Sc (Aviation) from Pune University, with AME in a 3-year dual program and a 4-year honours degree also - it is a nice concept for the students' future. My brother recently completed training from GMR Hyderabad and also from Go Air. He is in the 22 batch and is getting good placement guidance. He has cleared 8 modules. Very nice infra and facility.

Practicals on the Learjet
One of the finest colleges of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering in the western region of India in terms of practicals on the campus. Staff is dedicated to teaching the practicals on the Learjet, on avionics and mechanical. The infrastructure is up to the mark and all rooms for students, staff and management are air-conditioned.

What is the total fee for AME at Indira Institute of Aircraft Engineering, Pune?
For AY 2026-27 IIAE Pune publishes a grand total of Rs.8,45,000 for AME B1.1 (Mechanical) or B2 (Avionics) combined with B.Sc. Aviation, and Rs.6,35,000 for AME B1.3 (Helicopter Turbine) with B.Sc. Aviation. Both are spread across six semesters. B.Sc. Aviation on its own is Rs.2,95,000 over three years. All figures are from the institute's own published fee structure.
What is included in that fee, and what is extra?
The published totals include AME tuition and lab fees, B.Sc. Aviation tuition and lab fees, and the MRO or airline practical training fee (Rs.1,80,000 for B1.1 and B2, Rs.1,40,000 for B1.3). Charged separately and once only: registration Rs.20,000 (non-refundable), books and uniform Rs.25,000, miscellaneous expenses Rs.10,000, and a Rs.500 registration, medical and hostel form fee. Transport and accommodation during the MRO practical semesters are the student's own responsibility.

Yes. IIAE Pune is a DGCA CAR-147 (B) approved training organisation. It is additionally NAAC accredited with Grade B, and its B.Sc. Aviation is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University.
Which AME streams does IIAE Pune offer?
Three: B1.1 Aeroplane Turbine (Mechanical), B1.3 Helicopter Turbine, and B2 Avionics. Each runs three years across six semesters.
What is the AME plus B.Sc. in three years programme?
IIAE runs the DGCA AME licence programme and the SPPU B.Sc. Aviation degree concurrently over the same three years, so a student finishes with both rather than doing them back to back. An optional fourth-year UG Honours with Research (176 credits) is available at extra cost as per SPPU norms.
Where does the practical training happen?
On campus there is a Learjet airframe and engine used for mechanical and avionics practicals. The CAR-147 MRO or airline practical training is done in the 3rd and 5th semesters at partner organisations including Indamer and Heligo.
What is the eligibility for AME at IIAE Pune?
10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised board, or an equivalent qualification, plus medical fitness. Admission is confirmed on payment of the first-semester fee within seven working days of the HSC result declaration.
