The Institute Of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (IAME) in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, is a DGCA-approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) training institute recognised by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. Established under the Educational & Social Welfare Society, IAME has the distinction of being one of the first AME institutes in eastern Uttar Pradesh, providing focused, practical-centric aviation education with strong industry orientation. AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering)
IAME offers a DGCA-approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) training programme under CAR-147 (Basic), providing instruction in both:
• Category B1.1 (Mechanical – Aeroplane/Turbine) – Mechanical maintenance of heavy aircraft including engines, structures and systems, and
• Category B2 (Avionics) – Electrical, communication, navigation and instrumentation systems.
This single academic programme integrates both streams within the 2-year (2400-hour) classroom and practical training structure, with about 1440 hours of theory and 960 hours of practical exposure. Practical training includes on-aircraft experience through partnerships (e.g., Air India) as required by CAR-147.

What is the fee for the AME course at IAME Gorakhpur?
The institute publishes a total of Rs.3,20,000 in tuition for the 2-year AME course, paid as Rs.80,000 per semester across four semesters, plus a one-time admission fee of Rs.30,000 - Rs.3,50,000 in total. Caution money is Rs.3,000 and is refundable.
What is not included in the fee?
Air India and HAL practical training fees are charged extra, and hostel, books, uniform and examination fees are all excluded from the published figure. Ask the admissions office for current amounts on each of these before budgeting.
