About us
Established in 1995, located at the Baramati Airport of Pune district, Maharashtra, we’re one of the oldest privately operated Flight Training Organizations (FTO) and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) colleges in India today.
Carver Aviation is both: a DGCA and an ISO 9001:2015 certified aviation school that also provides numerous other ancillary aviation solutions.

Commercial Pilot License ( CPL )
- Ground training includes 120 hours for SPL & FRTOL(R) and 350 hours for CPL theory.
- Simulator training of minimum 20 hours on single-engine and multi-engine glass cockpit simulators.
- Flying training of minimum 200 hours, including at least 15 hours on multi-engine aircraft.
- Flight hours may exceed 200 based on cadet performance and regularity.

What is a Private Pilot License (PPL)?
A DGCA-approved PPL allows you to fly aircraft for non-commercial purposes (i.e., recreational flying).

What is a Commercial Pilot License (CPL)?
A Commercial Pilot License (CPL) permits you to fly professionally and earn a salary (Work as an Airlines Pilot, Charter Pilot, Flight Instructor, etc.). Minimum Age: 18 years. Flight Time: 200+ hours of flying training, including Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time and cross-country checks.
What's the difference between PPL and CPL?
CPL (Commercial): paid commercial flying, Class 1 Medical, 200+ flight hours, 6 DGCA papers, eligible for employment. PPL (Private): recreational flying only, Class 2 Medical, 40+ flight hours, 4 DGCA papers, no paid flying permitted.
How long does pilot training take in India?
At Carver Aviation: CPL takes 18 months. PPL takes 6 months. (Actual duration depends on the student's academic ability to clear DGCA examinations and flying proficiency.)
What is the cost of pilot training at Carver Aviation?

What are DGCA medical requirements for pilots?
Class 2 Medical (for PPL): a basic health check-up covering vision (corrected to 6/6 is generally acceptable), hearing, and overall general health. Class 1 Medical (for CPL): a more comprehensive examination including ECG, blood tests, hearing tests, and BMI checks.
What is the validity of DGCA medical certificates?
