The B1.1 Mechanical (Aeroplane Turbine) programme at HIET trains students in aircraft mechanical systems with a focus on turbine-powered aeroplanes such as commercial jets and turboprops. The course covers in-depth study and practical application in aircraft structures, engines, hydraulic systems, landing gear, flight control systems and powerplants. Students gain hands-on workshop experience, live aircraft exposure, and preparation for national regulatory licence exams to become qualified aircraft maintenance engineers.
The B1.3 Helicopter Turbine Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course at HIET focuses on the mechanical maintenance, inspection, repair, and certification of helicopter systems powered by turbine engines. Students learn core aeronautical mechanical subjects such as airframe structures, turbine powerplants, rotor systems, hydraulics, flight controls, and other mechanical systems specific to turbine-engine helicopters. Practical exposure includes hands-on workshops and live aircraft training, preparing learners for DGCA regulatory exams and industry roles in rotary-wing maintenance and overhaul.
The B2 Avionics stream at HIET focuses on aircraft electrical and electronic systems, including navigation, communication, instrumentation, power generation and distribution, radar systems, and other avionics components of modern aircraft. The programme blends classroom instruction with practical hands-on training in avionics labs and workshops, preparing students for DGCA-approved licence exams and careers in aircraft avionics maintenance, troubleshooting and certification.
