Hindustan Aerospace & Engineering (HAE), Pune, established in 2005, is a DGCA-approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering institute under CAR-147 (Basic) and part of the renowned Sha-Shib Group, one of South Asia’s largest aviation training networks. The institute is committed to delivering high-quality aviation education through modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and practical training facilities, including access to DGCA-approved maintenance organisations. HAE also offers additional academic pathways such as a BSc in Aviation, helping students gain both technical licence training and university qualifications. With experienced faculty, strong industry integration, and a focus on hands-on learning, HAE prepares students for successful careers in aircraft maintenance, aviation engineering, and related aerospace sectors.
This stream focuses on heavy aircraft maintenance with turbine jet engines. Training under this category equips students with skills in maintaining airframes, powerplants, hydraulics, structures and mechanical systems of larger commercial aircraft.
This mechanical stream focuses on piston engine and light aircraft structure maintenance, covering inspection, repair and certification of piston-powered aircraft systems. Successful completion plus work experience and DGCA module passes leads to an AME licence in B1.2.
The B2 stream focuses on aircraft electrical, avionics, radio, navigation and instrument systems. Graduates are trained to inspect, maintain and certify avionics systems in line with DGCA-CAR-66 regulations.
