Aircraft Maintenance Engineering – Category B1.1
This AME stream prepares students for maintenance roles in turbine-powered aircraft, training them to perform maintenance on aircraft structures, gas turbine engines (jet engines), hydraulic and mechanical systems, and related aeronautical components. The curriculum comprises both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical sessions over four semesters to align with DGCA licence standards.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering – Category B2
The B2 Avionics stream equips students with the skills to maintain and troubleshoot aircraft electrical, instrument and radio navigation systems, fostering competence in avionics diagnostics, instrumentation, communications and electrical systems as required for regulatory and airline maintenance environments. The training spans four semesters with classroom and hands-on workshop experiences.

Working aircraft and system mock-ups
The practicals are top notch. It's way better than how it looks. The aircraft is completely working, which I haven't seen in other institutes. They have mock-ups of all types of systems including hydraulics, landing gear, APU and piston engine, in fully working condition.

They claim to provide 100% placement, but it's all lies. I scored 94% in the course and cleared 10 DGCA modules, yet there were no campus placements. We had to search for jobs on our own, and if someone gets a job the college takes full credit. The posters you see with many students are misleading - those are not from the current or last batch.

How much does the AME course at IAME Aurangabad cost?
IAME does not publish a full course total. What it does publish is the admission fee of Rs.45,000, payable to confirm a seat once an offer letter is issued under the management quota, and hostel accommodation at Rs.2,000 per month, billed semester-wise. Practical training fees at partner organisations are additional. Ask the institute for a written total before committing.
Is the admission fee refundable?
The institute states that 100% of the admission fee is refundable if the candidate turns out not to be eligible for admission before the last admission date.
Is IAME Aurangabad the same as IAME Gorakhpur?
No. They are two separate DGCA-approved institutes that share an acronym. This page covers the Institute of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), Maharashtra, on the Government Polytechnic campus. IAME Gorakhpur is a different institute in Uttar Pradesh.
How do I get admission?
Two routes: through counselling, or through the management quota. Where does the on-job practical training happen?
CAR-147 (Basic) requires at least 30% of practical training in a live aircraft maintenance environment.
