Haryana is well ahead in the field of aviation with Haryana institute of civil aviation (HICA) as a premier flying training institute. HICA is imparting training to pilots and Engineers with three flying training centers fulfilling the flying requirements of pilots from various backgrounds and facilitating new inductions.
Civil Aviation Haryana was established in the year 1966, since then it has rendered a great service to civil aviation industry by providing ace pilots and Engineers in airlines, general aviation, armed forces, Indian Coast guard, Border Security Force and flying training institute also. In the year 1999, Haryana Institute of Civil Aviation (HICA) came into existence on 1st April 1999 by merging erstwhile Karnal Aviation Club, Hissar Aviation Club and Pinjore Aviation Club all together. Two more aerodromes are in Bhiwani and Narnaul.
HICA has won overall Best Flying Training Institute runner up trophy in India 2nd time for year 2012-13, earlier it has won the same trophy in 2008-09. This proud moment came when it was announced in the summit called by Aero Club of India in Delhi on 26.09.2012.
The Assistant Flight Instructor Rating (AFIR) is a DGCA-aligned qualification that enables a professional pilot to serve as an assistant flight instructor. The course focuses on instructional methods, flying techniques, and flight instruments, preparing licensed pilots to instruct student pilots under the supervision of a full flight instructor.
The Commercial Pilot’s Licence (CPL) course outlines the requirements and process for obtaining a CPL (Airplanes), including age, education, medical fitness, knowledge exams, flight experience, training, and skill tests as prescribed by aviation regulations. The licence enables holders to exercise privileges as a commercial pilot in accordance with Civil Aviation Rules. The course duration is normally up to five years, depending on aircraft availability and candidate performance.
A Flight Instructor’s Rating (FIR) is a qualification that enables a pilot to instruct student pilots and supervise flying training on aeroplanes or helicopters. To obtain this rating, applicants must meet minimum age, knowledge, flight experience, and competency standards set by aviation regulations, hold required licences/ratings, and demonstrate instructional skill to the satisfaction of an examiner. The rating is valid for 12 months and can be renewed based on recent instructional activity or testing
A Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL) is a licence that authorizes a trainee to act as pilot-in-command or co-pilot of an aeroplane (without remuneration) once they meet the minimum age, education, medical fitness, knowledge exams, flight experience, training and skill tests as per aviation regulations. The licence must be renewed periodically with evidence of recent flying experience or tests.
