ALCHEMIST AVIATION PVT. LTD. (AAPL), is one of the leading Pilot Training Institutions, approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Government of India. Established in 2007, AAPL operates in Jamshedpur, and has trained hundreds of pilots, including those formally sponsored by the state Governments of Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha over the last 8 years. The flight training at AAPL meets international standards, in accordance with regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India.
A DGCA-approved flying programme to train individuals to fly an aircraft solo for personal or hobby purposes; includes 50 hours of flying with associated ground and simulator training.
The CPL programme at Alchemist Aviation is an 18-month DGCA-approved professional pilot training course designed to prepare students for a career as a commercial pilot. It includes comprehensive ground classes and 200 hours of flying training, covering dual, solo, and night flying. Graduates become eligible to fly aircraft commercially after completing DGCA requirements.
A Multi-Engine Endorsement is a DGCA-recognised add-on training that qualifies a pilot to operate multi-engine aircraft, which is preferred by most airlines. The course includes practical flying hours on a twin-engine aircraft and simulated training to build handling skills. At Alchemist Aviation, training is conducted on aircraft like the Piper Seneca PA-34 with experienced instructors.
The Instrument Rating programme at Alchemist Aviation is a DGCA-approved training that teaches pilots to fly aircraft solely by reference to cockpit instruments — an essential skill for flying in poor visibility or under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR). Training includes both aircraft and simulator hours, with Alchemist’s own DGCA-approved flight simulator (ELITE S512). It’s suitable for pilots who already hold a valid pilot licence and want to enhance their instrument flying capabilities. This endorsement is valuable for advanced flying skills and career progression.
The Assistant Flight Instructor’s Rating at Alchemist Aviation is a DGCA-approved training program designed to prepare CPL-qualified pilots to assist in instructing student pilots. It focuses on pattern flying and teaching technique, helping aspiring instructors build flight training experience and transition toward a flight instruction career. Training includes flying hours and associated ground classes tailored to DGCA standards.
