Founded in 1981, OCFC (Orange County Flight Center) is a premier FAA-certified Part 141 and Part 61 flight training academy based in California, USA. With over four decades of aviation excellence, OCFC has trained thousands of aspiring pilots from around the world through industry-focused programs designed to prepare students for successful airline careers.
The academy offers comprehensive pilot training pathways, including Private Pilot License (PPL), Commercial Pilot License (CPL), Instrument Rating (IR), Multi-Engine Rating, and Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) preparation. Known for its strong emphasis on flight safety, professional discipline, and hands-on training, OCFC combines experienced instructors, modern aircraft, and advanced simulation technology to deliver world-class aviation education.
OCFC also supports international students and career-oriented aviators with structured training programs, flexible scheduling, and guidance throughout their aviation journey.
OCFC Ground School provides comprehensive theoretical aviation training designed to prepare students for FAA written examinations and professional flight training. The course covers essential aviation subjects including aerodynamics, navigation, weather, aircraft systems, regulations, and flight planning.
The Private Pilot course at OCFC (Orange County Flight Center) is designed to train students in the fundamentals of flying and prepare them for the FAA Private Pilot License. The program includes both ground school and practical flight training, covering aircraft operations, navigation, communication, flight maneuvers, weather interpretation, and aviation regulations. Students gain hands-on flying experience with certified instructors and modern training aircraft.
The Instrument Rating course at OCFC (Orange County Flight Center) trains pilots to fly under FAA Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) in low-visibility and instrument meteorological conditions (IMC). The program focuses on instrument scanning, navigation, flight planning, IFR procedures, communication, and advanced aircraft control using cockpit instruments rather than outside visual references. The training includes both flight and simulator instruction to improve precision, safety, and professional flying skills.
The Commercial Pilot Rating course at OCFC (Orange County Flight Center) is designed for students aiming to become professional pilots and build a career in commercial aviation. The program provides advanced flight training focused on precision flying, complex aircraft operations, cross-country navigation, commercial maneuvers, emergency procedures, and professional decision-making. Students receive both ground and flight instruction to meet FAA Commercial Pilot License requirements and prepare for airline or aviation industry careers.
The Flight Instructor (CFI) course at OCFC (Orange County Flight Center) prepares pilots to become certified flight instructors authorized to teach Private and Commercial pilot students. The program focuses on advanced flight knowledge, instructional techniques, flight planning, regulations, aircraft systems, and effective communication from the instructor’s seat. Students learn how to safely train and evaluate future pilots while building professional flight experience.
The Multi-Engine Rating course at OCFC (Orange County Flight Center) trains pilots to safely operate twin-engine aircraft and handle advanced flight operations in both VFR and IFR conditions. The program focuses on multi-engine aerodynamics, engine-out procedures, aircraft systems, emergency handling, performance management, and advanced flight techniques. Students gain hands-on experience in high-performance multi-engine aircraft with professional instructor guidance.
The Airline Pilot Program at OCFC (Orange County Flight Center) is a structured FAA Part 141/61 training program designed for students pursuing a professional airline career. The program takes students from Private Pilot training through Commercial Pilot and Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) preparation. Training includes ground school, single-engine and multi-engine flight training, instrument flying, commercial operations, and instructor-level experience to help students build the required 1,500 flight hours for airline eligibility. The course is designed for full-time training and can typically be completed in 8–10 months for PPL to CPL progression.
